Summary

The incredible true story of Qatar’s lifting of a ban on Christian worship, which had been in place for fourteen centuries, and the establishment of the first American School in Qatar, where the first public mass took place.

During a time of great upheaval in the world, (Iran/Iraq war, Muammar Gaddafi’s reign of terror and the toppling of Manuel Noriega in Panama), Qatar’s diplomatic act of free Christian worship went practically unnoticed in the US but was not lost on the most well-known religious man of the time, Pope John Paul II.
